Chimerical Collection: Concepts & Process

6 days ago I was one of the 10 designers that was suppose to showcase our 11 collection for a fashion designer’s competition called RISQ Grand Summer Fashion Show. Due to issues among the producer, RISQ is cancelled. Anyway, let’s move on for now. I don’t wanna share the whole drama here.

Some of you might have been wondering or curious about what my collection for RISQ looks like. As of now, Im still planning a photo shoot so my collection wont go to waste and probably sell it after. So now, i’ll be sharing you my concepts and process.

My collection is entitled Chimerical, which means widely fanciful imagination

1. Mood Board


Valentina Ramos pop colors, lines and circle that swirl & undulate result in playful artwork

2. Color Palette


Klein Blu, Sky, Burnt Coral, Lotus, White, Endive

3. Fabrics

Heavy Fine Chiffon, Printed Chiffon, Dull Charmeuse, Spandex, Cotton Spandex, Cotton Bamboo, Sanitized Twill, Printed Canvas, Knits

 4. Applied Technique

Valentina’s artwork interpreted into crochet. Making these took a lot of my time (Crochets are hand-made by me)

Crochet, Color Blocking, Sheer, Tail Hems, Wide Leg Pants, Crop Top, Maxi Skirt

6. Process



Placing the crochet on a patterned muslin to the mannequin and model/friend/classmate(Yong Davalos) before transferring everything again to the pattern paper
